Q: As SKYiGOLF enters the market, how have you and the team prepared for the launch of this new program?
A: A majority of our team members are experienced PGA Professionals, so they’ve been preparing for this unique opportunity their entire careers. We have identified services and solutions to make our industry and our game better. We have spoken to facility operators and PGA Pros across the country and see an opportunity to help the game. We believe our insights and passion for this game can enable future generations to enjoy this great sport.
Q: You’ve pulled together a seasoned team of leaders for SKYiGOLF. Why is that important?
A: Our team represents a diverse group of thinkers that represent many of the critical areas of the game and its operation. Our group delivers experience and expertise in so many areas. We have converged all of these insights into one voice to build the SKYiGOLF brand with our goal of making the game of golf better over the coming years.
Q: The golf industry continues to search for what’s next in the game. What are your thoughts?
A: Having been involved in this game since I was 14, I don’t think there is one big “golden goose” idea. However, fundamentally we believe that the golf experience needs to transcend beyond booking another tee time. It should be more than a transaction. It should be about developing a relationship with the PGA Professional and the facility. It should be about an “experience” that you’ll recommend to friends. We want to make an investment to help the PGA Pro run a smarter business and make golf more fun.
Q: You’ve said that golf’s “ultimate” shot is the hole-in-one. What will SKYiGOLF do to celebrate those momentous shots?
A: If you are a golfer who ever has made a hole-in-one, you undoubtedly remember where it was, when it was, and the club you hit. At SKYiGOLF facilities, we’re making a technology investment so that a golfer’s ultimate shot lives on forever. On a designated par-3 hole, we will have 4K cameras positioned to capture your lifetime moment. We’ll give you the video, narrated by a celebrity voice, and share the accomplishment on social media for your family and friends to see. We will also hand you a check for $10,000!
Q: What is the role of your Business Development Advocates?
A: SKYiGOLF has invested in a national network of more than two dozen PGA Professionals, or Business Development Advocates. Think of them as a SKYiGOLF concierge. They will be there to assist you in all facets of your business. These PGA members know all about running a facility; they’ve lived it, from customer service, event planning and so much more. They will be focused on helping the PGA Pro and the facility build better relationships and a better business!
